The aim of this operation was twofold:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To preserve the original physical documents<\/li>\n<li>To enable optimal digitization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The initial restoration phase greatly facilitated the digitization phase and guaranteed the quality of the digital images.
