Black pharaoh shroud | Sudan | Digitization

  • Digitization of an antique shroud

At the request of the Antiquities Department of the French Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, ArkhĂªnum digitized a sarcophagus shroud from northern Egypt. Attributed to the Kingdom of Kush, the shroud is unique, not only because of its age (2,500 years) but also its dimensions (110 cm x 140 cm). This precious artifact was restored in France before being physically and digitally preserved by the ArkhĂªnum team and returned to the National Museum of Khartoum.
