The Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor has embarked on a major restoration project to safeguard its archives and make them accessible to the public.
The files the Order holds on decorated members, students, and its own buildings and operations are of great interest to historians, genealogy enthusiasts and anyone looking for their family history.
Around 54 bundles and decree registers, which document individual awards given at the end of significant French battles from 1871 to 1963, required restoration. These archives have now been restored and digitized. From dust removal to digitization, La Reliure du Limousin has applied its invaluable expertise to the preservation of these documents.
